Role overview
The Production Engineer will programme CNC machines, create and maintain routings, coordinate tooling, and support problem solving and improvement activity across machining areas. The role includes offline programming and collaboration with the shop floor to ensure stable processes.
Key responsibilities
- Programme various CNC machines to customer drawings, including offline programming using CAD where appropriate.
- Implement and maintain production processes and procedures.
- Lead and support continuous improvement, problem solving, and process improvement activities.
- Create accurate routings within the production system.
- Order and coordinate tooling requirements.
- Assist with shop floor layout and cell layout to improve flow and efficiency.
- Undertake ongoing training and development to keep skills current.
Candidate profile
- Apprentice-trained engineer preferred.
- Strong background in CNC turning and milling, including live tooling.
- Previous experience within production engineering.
- Competent PC user and able to work to engineering drawings.
- Experience with a range of machine controls.
- Self-starter with initiative and a collaborative approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail; honest and reliable.
Hours and base
- Contract: Full-time, based in Brighouse.
- Working hours: 08:00–16:50 Monday to Thursday; 08:00–12:15 Friday (36.75 hours).
